Is Google Plus a Failure?

Google Plus

Just like many other Google products, Google Plus made waves when it was first announced, even more so when it actually launched. There is, however, this thing about many a Google product. It seems some of them never really go past beyond the initial ripples, and they eventually die off.

This is what many people are saying about Google Plus, which initially was touted as THE alternative to Facebook. There were – perhaps, are – many things going for Google Plus, but the negative things being said about it cannot be totally ignored. For sure, you have heard terms such as “ghost town” being used in reference to the platform.

But can we say that Google Plus is a failure? [Read more…] about Is Google Plus a Failure?

Knock-offs from China are nothing to be surprised about, yes? You probably have already heard people saying that in China, you can find knock-off of practically every item that has been manufactured. That may or may not be accurate, but if you are in the market for an alternative to the much raved about Apple iPad (throw in the Samsung tablets in there as well), here’s something you might want to look at.

What’s the Matter With Batman?

Batman Psychology
What’s the Matter With Batman?
This question could be answered with “Where do I begin?” or “Absolutely nothing!” – it all depends on your perspective, I suppose.

According to Robin Rosenberg, clinical psychologist and author based in California, however, there are things that could be wrong with everyone’s favorite superhero. Alright, he may not be everyone’s superhero of choice, but Batman comes pretty close to that, doesn’t he?

Rosenberg has written a book titled just that: “What’s the Matter With Batman?” She sums everything up nicely in one sentence: “He is the poster boy for post-traumatic growth.”

Now don’t get confused and mistake post-traumatic growth for post-traumatic stress disorder. The former is actually a positive thing, wherein the person who undergoes trauma becomes stronger and better. This can be the result of making new goals and perhaps even changing his beliefs for the better. I like to think of it along the lines of what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. We’ve all had our doses of fun following dead authors, revolutionaries, and other celebrities on various social networking platforms. They may not be in this world anymore, but they live on, not only through their work, but also courtesy of witty people who took it upon themselves to take the persona of whichever celebrity.

For fans of Jane Austen, arguably one of the most popular authors of her era, social networking is nothing new. She already has a presence on Twitter, but this time, Jane Austen enters the social world via a different route: Facebook gaming. Insta-WP

Since it was launched in October of 2010, Instagram has become a household name. Even though the app was originally created for only iOS devices, it was still able to achieve a wide reach. Of course, when the company decided to expand and enter the Android market, the users of Instagram exploded.

Naturally, there are the haters. There will always be haters. They can say all sorts of negative things about Instagram, its filters, its users, and so on, but no one can really deny that the app is fun, right?

Obviously, I am an Instagram user, albeit not a very regular one. I have it installed on both the iPhone and the iPad, but I just seem to suck at timing, so often, I miss out on good photo opportunities.

In any case, if you are an Instagrammer, you would love this discovery: Insta-WP. [Read more…] about Take Instagram to New Heights With Insta-WP
