German Flintstones Car
Flintstones Car

I am not sure if the children of this generation are still exposed to the antics of the most beloved Stone Age family (of our generation, at least), but I have no doubt that if a child were to be introduced to the Flintstones today, the allure of the cartoons will be just as strong.

How can one not fall in love with those Stone Age characters and all their quirks? How can one NOT want the foot mobile?

And speaking of this iconic mode of transportation, Stone Age it may be, it still has its admirers in modern days.

Enter Sebastian Trager. [Read more…] about German Police: Flintstones Car Not Roadworthy

Smartphones Are Not For Calls, So It Seems

Mobile Phones
What do you use your smartphone for most of the time?

Off the top of my head, I say I use my phone for texting and checking Twitter. A close second comes reading ebooks. Making phone calls comes in third, at best, that is.

We probably do not need a study to tell us that many people do not use their smartphones to make a lot of phone calls, but in case you like having proof to back up your statements, there is this study conducted by O2, one of the leading UK mobile networks. Google’s Nexus 7 to Challenge Kindle Fire

Google Nexus 7

Or not. It depends on how you see things, of course, but it looks like Google is not going to leave the tablet market alone.

During the Google I/O conference held in San Francisco yesterday, the tech giant showed proof that it has something to say when it comes to tablet computers. While it may not be taking on the iPad (smart!), it certainly seems to be saying something to Kindle. [Read more…] about Google’s Nexus 7 to Challenge Kindle Fire

LEGO Minifigs

LEGO. There’s just something about those blocks that capture the hearts and imaginations of young and old alike. And of course, when young kids in love with LEGO grow up to be adults, they do not forget. They merely turn into Adult Fans of LEGO.

Who can blame them?

Then there are LEGO minifigs, which transform “normal” creatures into blockheads that one simply cannot fail to enjoy. How many LEGO minifigs do you know about? How many do you own?

I just had a blast looking at the 21 greatest LEGO minifigs according to Topless Robot. And yes, I didn’t know about many of them. [Read more…] about Awesome LEGO Minifigs You Might Not Know About

What I Remember About Dinosaurs: A Kickstarter Project

June 26, 2012 by noemi

What I Remember About Dinosaurs
What I Remember About Dinosaurs Cover Mockup

What do you remember about dinosaurs?

I am not sure if the strong interest in dinosaurs is a matter of generation, but I clearly remember – when we were kids – that it was cool to be able to rattle off the names of dinosaurs like a Gatling gun in action. Not to mention the ability to follow up with all their characteristics and spot them from a mile away. If dinosaurs ever visited the school, that is.

Whether you were one of those kids or not, I still think teaching kids about these leviathans is a worthwhile venture. Non-existent they may be today, they are still very much part of our history.
