Technology is a double-edged sword in parenting. Just as you worry about your babies safety, as a parent this worry does not diminish as your children get older and are faced with new challanges. Monitoring your child’s use of the family PC is simple enough, but supervision becomes more complicated when you’re dealing with smartphones. Stuff Siri Says: Sometimes Odd, Sometimes Funny, Sometimes Dead On

October 25, 2011 by DailyBits

A lot of people were initially disappointed when Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S instead of the iPhone 5 last October 4. Personally, I think all that disappointment could have been avoided if people reigned in the rumor talks prior to the launch. There were literally dozens of new rumors being spread all over the web each day as October 4 drew closer–and while Apple could’ve issued a little press release to cut down the chatter just a little bit, they didn’t, in true Apple fashion. (But if you think about it, more rumors probably would’ve surfaced had they said something, so maybe it was a no-win situation then.)

Tributes to a Visionary: Celebrating the Life and Work of Steve Jobs

October 11, 2011 by DailyBits

The world woke up to sad news on October 5th when Apple announced the passing of Steve Jobs. He may not have been a man who a lot of people agreed or saw eye to eye with, but almost everyone who knew and worked with him have said that he was truly one of a kind. Jobs was someone who came up and developed stuff that people didn’t know they needed, until Apple made it.

People might not always remember to bring along their tablets or laptops, but most will most likely be bringing around their smartphones with them wherever they go. The reason is simple: because it’s more convenient, handy, and light. It used to be that only businessmen were into smartphones, but when Apple’s iPhone arrived at the scene, it attracted and gathered millions of new users who use the device not only as a phone, but also as a gaming, academic, and business device.

Let’s take a look at some iPhone apps from the iTunes App Store that was created with the goal of increasing the productivity of its user. We only have twenty-four hours a day to do all of our stuff, so why not spend a little bit of time working on trying to make each second count?

All About the iPhone 5: Rumors, Controversies, and Its Impending Release

September 24, 2011 by DailyBits

Every year since 2007, Apple has unveiled a new version of their iPhone, from the original iPhone to the iPhone 3G, 3Gs, and iPhone 4. Well, every year except for this one, that is. Rumors about the iPhone 5 began as early as a few months after the release of the iPhone 4. However, speculation is particularly rife nowadays, with leakages, controversies, and even more rumors on the latest model of Apple’s smartphone cropping up every other day.

5 Strange Cases to House Your iPhone In

September 20, 2011 by DailyBits

When Apple first announced that they had a smartphone in the works, the world waited with bated breaths for its release. Four (but soon to be five) generations later, the iPhone is still the most popular smartphone out there that has managed to attract a huge and fanatical following. Of course, it’s to be expected that something so popular will probably spawn the production of related gadgets and stuff, like accessories, sleeves, and–our favorite–cases.

You’ve probably already seen the plain old generic silicone and leather cases, but have you seen the ones that are born from wacky minds and free-spirited imaginations that require more than just a second (or third) glance because they’re just that strange or creative or just plain weird?
