How to Grow Your Twitter Followers

So you have a Twitter account. What are you doing with it? Some people are content to have a handful of their friends – both “real” and “virtual” – as their followers. For many, though, they want to extend their reach. This is especially true for Twitter accounts used for business or professional purposes. Getting as many followers is the priority for these people.

Unless you have already established your brand, though, it may not be that easy to grow your Twitter followers quickly. More so, growing Twitter followers consistently over time is another issue. If you look around, however, you will find a lot of experts dishing out advice on how to make sure that your Twitter follower count consistently goes up, instead of staying stagnant (or worse, going down). Tributes to a Visionary: Celebrating the Life and Work of Steve Jobs

October 11, 2011 by DailyBits

The world woke up to sad news on October 5th when Apple announced the passing of Steve Jobs. He may not have been a man who a lot of people agreed or saw eye to eye with, but almost everyone who knew and worked with him have said that he was truly one of a kind. Jobs was someone who came up and developed stuff that people didn’t know they needed, until Apple made it.

Rocksmith Video Game Teaches You How to Play Guitar for Real!

Rocksmith
Rocksmith in Action

How many hours did you waste spend playing Guitar Hero, or one of its many versions? I know it is one of the video games that caught my attention – and held it – for a very long time. I had several versions of the game on the PlayStation 3 and the Wii, and even though I didn’t have a guitar controller for the latter, I still kept at it. And I am not alone in this, for sure. (I did have the special edition Aerosmith guitar controller for the PS3, though!)

While the games were a lot of fun, there was one big criticism about the game: it didn’t really teach players how to use a guitar in the real world. Sure, you still had keep the beat most of the time. And it was easy enough to pretend that you were a rock star. At the end of the day, however, you still couldn’t play real guitar for sh&t. All writers struggle for inspiration at some stage in their writing career and it doesn’t matter if you’re writing online or offline you’re eventually going to wind up with writers block of some kind. We all have different ways of getting over that particular hurdle and one of my most recent finds in this regard surprised even me. Do Suffer From Text Neck?

October 7, 2011 by noemi

Texting

Remember the hullaballoo about the Blackberry thumb, a condition that supposedly arose due to overusing Blackberry phones and mobile phones in general? That was many years ago, and now, there is some other medical condition that can be blamed on using mobile phones way too much.

Called text neck, the medical condition is supposed to be the result of spending too much time hunched over your mobile phone, presumably texting. While the name is limited to one activity, the text neck may actually result from other activities that you do on your mobile phone and/or tablet. Whatever it is that you like doing on those devices, the fact that you spend considerable time in a hunched over position can result in text neck. [Read more…] about Do Suffer From Text Neck?

Less-Traditional but Way Awesome Halloween Costumes

October 6, 2011 by Brittany High

Halloween is right around the corner. In 25 days to be exact, but who’s counting? (Me, it’s me. I have a countdown going on the Thomas Kinkade calendar my gramma got me last year for Christmas.) I’ve already been sending out Halloween eCards, but everyone knows that one of the best parts of Halloween is dressing up (plus candy from strangers!!!!!!) but every year at every party there’s a slew of ninjas, pirates, slutty everythings, ghosts, skeletons… originality is limited. And for the love of Trick-or-Treating — you’re not allowed to wear that novelty “This is My Costume” t-shirt for the third year in a row. Take a peek through this gallery for some Less-Traditional (but Way Awesome) Halloween Costumes.
