The World of Lost Smartphones [Infographic]

April 17, 2012 by noemi

How much do you value your smartphone? With how much those things cost these days, it would be silly not to take good care of them. That is, unless you have tons of cash to burn, and you don’t mind. I don’t know if it’s sheer negligence or simple absentmindedness, but it seems that a lot – too much, actually – of smartphones are lost on a daily basis.

I just ran across this infographic detailing the numbers on smartphone loss. Titled “The World of Lost Smartphones”, the infographic is the creation of Lookout Mobile Security. They provide solutions to protect your smartphone – from virus and malware protection to backup and restore functions to location tools. Wristwatches have always been a popular accessory, although I have to admit that I have never been too much into them. While I do appreciate a nice looking watch, I have never felt the urge to get one of those bands for the iPod Nano. I have a feeling that it will look ridiculous, in spite of the countless people who have told me how cool it is to wear one. On the other hand, there are also those who have ranted against the downsides of the iPod Nano as a watch.

If you are one of them, you might be interested in the newest thing in wristwatches coupled with mobile devices: Pebble, the e-paper watch that works for both the iPhone and Android devices. [Read more…] about Pebble: E-Paper Watch Works for iOS and Android

Video Chat in Browser
WebRTC
What is your main means of communication? The chances of video chat being up in the list is rather high, especially if you are based in a location far from your family and friends. With the technological advances that we enjoy today, video chat has become a major mode of communication.

There are many different providers which offer video chat services, many of them free. While that is convenient, there is the issue of having to download and install those programs. What if you can do a video chat on your browser without having to install a plugin or any other program?

Inventors: The People Behind the Way We Live [Infographic]

April 10, 2012 by noemi

We live in good times, even if often, we tend to overlook the “simple” things that give us our comforts. Sure, the economy (wherever you may be) can use some improvement. We will always welcome additional income, of course.

If you look around you, though, you probably will see so many things that you take for granted. Things that are the fruits of the labor of other people who opened up paths in the unknown. We call some of them inventors. 😉 [Read more…] about Inventors: The People Behind the Way We Live [Infographic]
