April 20, 2012 by noemi

It’s Friday, and what better way to welcome the weekend break with a little fun? At the end of the day, you probably have plans to chase away all the stress that the work week has brought with it, but why don’t you start putting yourself in a fun mood right now?

You might be at work, and reading about jobs and careers might not be your best idea of fun at the moment. This infographic about “futureproof” careers will get you in a lighter mood, though. Trust me.

Created by Blucarrot, the infographic gathers data about jobs of the future that just might be what our kids (already born or yet to be born) will be doing. And if you’re smart about it, you will do what you can right now to make sure that your progeny will have a solid career in the future – whether its in the sciences or not. 3D Print Pills

Hold your horses! It is not possible to have your own drugstore at home just yet, but the likelihood of being able to print your own pills is high. You can thank Professor Lee Cronin, who is the Gardiner Chair of Chemistry at the University for this.

He has conducted research into the possibility of using a 3D printer to make reactionware. This refers to containers made of a polymer gel. Chemicals are then added to the reactionware, which can then result in various applications – including medication. [Read more…] about 3D Print Your Own Pills

Everyone dreams of visiting Paris at least once, don’t they? And when it comes to Paris, the Louvre is definitely at the top of people’s must-visit list. With all that is there to discover within the museum’s walls, it certainly is no surprise at all.

Inventors: The People Behind the Way We Live [Infographic]

April 10, 2012 by noemi

We live in good times, even if often, we tend to overlook the “simple” things that give us our comforts. Sure, the economy (wherever you may be) can use some improvement. We will always welcome additional income, of course.

If you look around you, though, you probably will see so many things that you take for granted. Things that are the fruits of the labor of other people who opened up paths in the unknown. We call some of them inventors. 😉 [Read more…] about Inventors: The People Behind the Way We Live [Infographic]

How’s your posture? You might have grown up with your mom – or grandma – nagging you about sitting up straight and maintaining the proper posture, as many of us probably did. Sad to say, that kind of nagging might not have always worked out for every child. If you spend practically all your waking hours in front of your computer, you might even be more prone to bad posture.

It might not be too late, though. Electronics manufacturer, Philips, is promoting the ErgoSensor – a new monitor – on its UK web site. [Read more…] about ErgoSensor Monitor Might Cure Your Bad Posture

Good Friday may not be the best time to talk/think about zombies (or it could be perfect, depending on your perspective), but this piece of news just can’t wait. With a zombie run coming up in my neck of the woods, zombie talk has just escalated in the recent days. And when I read about what Russia is working on, I knew I had to share it with you guys. I hope you are not that averse to all things zombies!

According to an article published by The Herald Sun ((Source)), Russia has confirmed that they are working on technology that can create zombies. [Read more…] about Russia’s Electromagnetic Radiation Guns to Create Zombies
