Just recently, we heard about the “I’m Getting Arrested App“, which can help people who are getting arrested inform relevant people of their situation. While it is not meant solely for those actively involved in the Occupy Movement, it is definitely one of the more popular applications.

Early this week, the White House made an announcement along similar lines. No, it’s not about the Occupy Movement, but about apps that have the potential to be of very good use. The apps are the result of a technology challenge issued by the White House, which called on software innovators to come up with apps that can be used to battle sexual abuse and dating violence. The nursing industry has experienced a boom in the recent years, with many developed countries feeling an urgent need for qualified nurses. In many of these countries, they do not have enough nurses to fill the need. As a result, they have resorted to “importing” nurses from other countries, where nursing schools have cropped up like mushrooms after the rain. While it may seem that this trend can solve the nursing crisis, it does not seem to be the case.

The Batmobile has got to be one of the coolest cars in history. If you ask the right people, they will probably say that it IS the coolest car. It is rather difficult to argue with that, but this new customized version of the Batmobile just gives me the creeps. Enough creeps to last me till next Halloween, perhaps.

No, it is not the car itself that creeps me out. It’s the car’s owner posing with the cool custom car.

Fruit Ninja is one of those games that gets people hooked for one reason or another. Even those who do not normally like playing video games can easily find themselves getting all excited about playing Fruit Ninja on their iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad. Of course, we cannot discount the Android users who also have Fruit Ninja on their devices.

The game was first released in April of 2010 for the iPod Touch, but it has quickly spread since then. There is no doubt that it is now one of the most popular casual games there are. I have to say, though, that Fruit Ninja is definitely not on the same level as Angry Birds. I think that that game is just difficult to surpass. Still, just because Fruit Ninja is not that popular doesn’t mean it can’t have its own movie, right?
