Mashups have been done of practically everything you can think of. Some of them are awesome, some not so awesome. Here’s a mashup that will make you really happy if you like Star Wars (and are starting to hate Lucas, maybe), and you believe that you were a pirate in your previous life. The tee shirt is called YArr2-D2, definitely not the most imaginative name, but still catchy.

The YArr2-D2 tee shirt is designed by Glen O’Neill, who describes himself as a being “just a big geeky artist”. He is based in Victoria, Canada. His day job is Production Coordinator at a place called The Martlet, but what is really cool is that he designs tees and draws comics in his spare time. From the looks of this latest tee that he designed, we should all be thankful for his employer as it seems he gets the spare time to come up with awesome things that ordinary mortals like you and me can enjoy. How Much Do You Rely on Coffee at Work?

Coffee LOL
Coffee LOL

I have heard people say that coffee makes them more productive workers. I have said that myself more times than I can count, myself. You might have said it yourself. But how accurate is this statement? Is there any empirical evidence to support it?

I might just have stumbled into something that gives more weight to the idea that coffee makes happy and productive workers – an infographic providing the stats on how workers take their coffee and how they perceive their coffee consumption to help at work. Halloween seems to be the talk of the town, and rightly so. From costumes to food to drinks – everything about this holiday seems to incite a different kind of excitement. Yesterday, I shared this web site that has a good selection of pirate costumes that can make you the star of any Halloween party that you go to. If pirates are not your thing and you prefer a time machine that looks like a phone box, then you probably will go for the TARDIS. (I totally understand your sentiment, by the way.) Alternatively, you might want to go with the Daleks.

If you are hooked on the Doctor, here’s something that you will definitely want for yourself: TARDIS Prime. (I know I want one!) It’s a shirt that celebrates the awesomeness that is the TARDIS, while at the same time incorporating the concept of the Transformers. I don’t think anyone can deny just how formidable that combination can be, do you? [Read more…] about The TARDIS Prime Shirt

Halloween is around the corner, and we all know what that means! For some of my friends, it is THE time to get their Star Trek costumes out. Have them dry cleaned and what not. For others, it is the time to get their creative juices running and come up with a costume from scratch.

If you do not have the time or the inclination to spend a lot of time and effort on this year’s Halloween costume, I have the perfect option for you: awesome pirate costumes! [Read more…] about Go Pirate This Halloween!

Tokyo Goes Star Wars With Lightsaber Railings in Trains

Lightsaber Railings
Lightsaber Railings

In the more developed countries, people probably take trains for granted. After all, spending hours everyday on trains going to and from work can easily get one immune to the surroundings. It’s just a matter of convenience, really. More so, with all the mobile gadgets that most people have today (not to mention connectivity practically anywhere you may be), the train’s features may be the last thing that you pay attention to during your daily commute.

In Tokyo, however, the trains have just undergone an upgrade that will get the attention of even the most jaded of people: lightsaber railings. [Read more…] about Tokyo Goes Star Wars With Lightsaber Railings in Trains

The Amusement Washing Machine Will Make Laundry FUN

I dislike doing household chores. Who doesn’t, really? I do love to cook and do it practically everyday without any issues but when it comes to doing the dishes, I balk. And when it comes to doing laundry. Man, let’s not even talk about that!

With the invention of Lee Wei Chen, an MA student from Kingston University, though, laundry time just might take on a whole new hue. The invention is a washing machine that incorporates the most fun thing in the world for many people – arcade games. Think about it, when you were a kid, how much did you look forward to spending an hour (or two) playing arcade games? Even now, as a grown up, your eyes still probably light up at the prospect of being able to go to the arcade and let your hair down, so to speak.
