Temple Run for Android Still in the Works

February 21, 2012 by noemi

Temple Run for iOS
Temple Run
The discussion about Android versus iOS has been going on for a long time now, and it still is not over. The Internet is vast with an Android Market here and an Android market there. This perhaps has contributed to its explosive growth. Still, one can’t deny that it seems that a lot of developers first focus on creating new apps for iOS, with Android users having to wait for a while.

On the other hand, with the number of Android devices swimming out there, one also cannot discount the fact that there are more users. More so, practically all the basic things that you want to do, you can do with an Android device. For example, if need to know how to make gifs, there certainly is an Android app for that.

When it comes to some games, though, Android users have to be a little more patient. And yes, I am talking about Temple Run. [Read more…] about Temple Run for Android Still in the Works

Neurologists Diagnose Harry Potter’s Mysterious Headaches

Harry Potter

I don’t know if you got suckered in by J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter, but it is rather hard not to at least want to read/watch the franchise once. I remember burying my nose into the books – well, the first several ones. I have not watched all the movies, but there is something to be said about the story of this young boy with that lightning scar on his forehead.

For sure, one of the things that has been the topic of many a debate or discussion are the headaches that Harry Potter experiences. Whatever the “real” reason for those headaches may be, it seems that real life science might have something for us. [Read more…] about Neurologists Diagnose Harry Potter’s Mysterious Headaches

By now, you probably have seen Pinterest one time too many to ignore it. This relatively new web site is making waves, and huge waves they are! I wouldn’t be surprised if you already have an account and are using it on a regular basis.

I started using Pinterest personally some time last year when a friend mentioned it to me, but I have not been that active. As I have said before, I can barely keep up with all my social networking accounts! With all the attention that Pinterest is receiving, though, one simply cannot set it aside. Motorola vs. Apple “Slide-to-Unlock” Debacle Solved

February 16, 2012 by Amanda DiSilvestro

I recently saw a car with a slide-to-unlock sticker right next to the door and I immediately thought “Apple.” Although it may seem like this was just a great coincidence that Apple should be recognized for such an image, it seems they had it planned from the beginning.

Apple has stated in a patent that they have the rights to the slide-to-unlock feature; however Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus has recently been trying to employee a similar feature for their new phone. Naturally, Apple pulled out their ammunition in hopes to stop the possible infringement on their German patent. To tell you a little bit about the history of the slide-to-unlock feature:

Mattel to Release Back to the Future Hoverboards

Mattel Hoverboard
Hoverboard

Back to the Future is something I grew up with, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. Call it mushy if you want, but I am sure that many people of my generation will say the same thing. Never mind the 80s fashion and everything else that went with that era. The Back to the Future franchise is still hard to beat!

Of course, when it comes to Back to the Future, hoverboards will always be part of the discussion. I bet that anyone who was even remotely influenced by the movies dreams of having a real life hoverboard one day. [Read more…] about Mattel to Release Back to the Future Hoverboards

Avatar Robot Created by Japanese Scientist

James Cameron’s Avatar made a very big splash when it came out, with practically everyone raving about the movie. Well, maybe not about the story line but the movie in general. It was not my first 3D experience, but I found it pretty fun. Truth be told, I have never seen it again in its entirety. Once was enough, in my opinion.

What is interesting about Avatar is the concept of being able to project yourself as another being. Now that is the stuff that science fiction is made of, and these things are always fascinating. What if this can actually be done in real life? [Read more…] about Avatar Robot Created by Japanese Scientist
