Results of the survey conducted by a research company shows that majority of moms who won an iPhone use it to entertain their kids – downloading games and educational materials. In addition, majority of them also use the iPhone as a a shopping tool – locating stores, jotting down to-buy lists and as a notepad.According to the study conducted by Greystripe, 59% of those who were surveyed let their kids use their iPhones to play games and be entertained. 41% of them download games for their kids, while 20% download educational materials.
As for shopping, 79% of those surveyed use their iPhones for shopping activities. 60% of them for locating stores, 39% for price comparisons, 19% for downloading coupons, 23% for finding sale items and 37% for finding more information about products.
Using the iPhone for Grocery list or for jotting down notes using the Notepad app are also popular among mommy iPhone users.
This survey is rather interesting since my wife who inherited my iPhone 3G does the same thing. Whenever she needs to calm down our daughter, she would let her use her iPhone and my daughter will sit quietly on a corner and starts listening to music, play games and even take snapshots of her toys. And we didn’t even thought her how to do it. She just learns it own her own.
This prove another thing – that the iPhone is indeed user-friendly and intuitive.
