Understanding Arithmetic is Key

There is this video on YouTube called “The Most IMPORTANT Video You Will Ever See.” One would think that it reveals some secret about our life right? Well not quite, the video is in fact about arithmetic!

The old professor is basically trying to convince us that “the greatest shortcoming of the human race is our inability to understand the exponential function.” Crazy as it sounds, the guy almost convinced me! Worth watching.

I don’t understand your last comment. Almost had you convinced of what? His math is correct.

That comment followed that quote, I thought it was pretty clear.

Daniel,

Please bear with me as I try to understand. Do you agree with his presentation or not? Seriously, the way it is written “almost had convinced me” leaves me wondering where you stand on what he said.

I really like your DailyBits feed, and it is one of the few I read every day. I am not trying to belabor the issue, and this is an honest question born out of mere curiosity.

@Hal, I will try to make this as clear as possible:

1. I agree with his presentation

2. I found it quite interesting, and I also think that every one should study more maths

3. Despite 1 and 2, and I am still not convinced that, as the professor mentioned on the video, “the greatest shortcoming of the human race is our inability to understand the exponential function.”

4. That statement is a bit of an exaggeration, but perhaps the professor used it in a funny or provocative way
